I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a good homestyle meal and some interesting local atmosphere. It is wheelchair accessible, including the rest rooms, and is all on one floor. It sits on a main road and is easy to spot. There are a few wheelchair accessible parking spots, but the lot is small. Be prepared to circle the building once to scout for parking and then you may still have to park in the neighborhood. Perfect place for the college crowd - near campus, and that's who took us there.
Awful.....20 minute wait right off the bat. We were seated and ordered coffee, tea etc....got our drinks and ordered our breakfast.....it was 50 minutes until we got breakfast. We should have got up and left. Food was cold and I've certainly had better and it was 60 bucks for 4 people..... I don't know what all the hype is about this place but I can assure you we will never return. Very poor management of food and time.
Got seated at the counter quickly, got a glass of water and put my order in quickly. An hour later my waiter apologized for the wait, but had no idea how much longer it would take. I canceled my order and won't be going back. Always happy to see a new business do well, bu t it shouldn't be at the customers expense.
Only one bathroom, there will be a line.
The cheese steak was great. The Friday fish special also good. The steak fries not as crispy as preferred, however the staff was there to fix it. Our waitress was great,
My daughter and her boyfriend took my husband and me to dinner at Mason-Dixon Cafe when we visited her during vacation. We were rather taken aback initially to find it had a loud, crowded diner atmosphere and we had to stand in the dining room to wait for seating. However, something about the local nature of the crowd said "good food" to me and I was correct. The menu did consist is mostly classic diner food. The mashed potatoes were perfectly prepared and buttery. The meat loaf had beef, veal, and pork- and not a hint of fat or gristle. The seasoning was pleasingly salt, pepper and sauteed onions with tomato sauce that did not overwhelm. My husband had a rib-eye steak that was tender and could give any fine restaurant a run for the money. Too bad the portions were so filling, because the dessert homemade they could brag about and even 2 of us couldn't eat it all.
Try the Sweet potato tots, incredible.
What a wonderful surprise this was! Food was wonderful, as was the service! Busy place too! Had breakfast with the girls, and we love to talk. We never felt rushed, but we also kept an eye on how busy they were. We made sure we tipped very well, to make up for taking so long. Definitely will be back!
