One of the Fredericksburg area's best kept secrets, this park has excellent walking trails, a nice picnic area and is a great place to just sit and hang out. The only downside is during the Summer, the parking lot is not that big so it does fill up pretty quickly.
We love this park! Bring water shoes and bug spray
Nice place to visit, the soda vending machine in the cabin is currently not working thou (someone wrote on it with a pen marker and I didn't pay attention) be careful not to spend money on that one.
This a hidden gem. Woodsy, with trails for walking. You cross a small stream to get to the parking area. The crossing is paved but it's fun to do. There are picnic tables, etc. Great for families, small school groups and those who just want to spend some time in a special place. Adjoining is a 2.5 mile walking trail, that shares a restroom with the park. Try not to park under the trees in late September, early October. Almost impossible. Nuts fall off the trees. Likely no damage but they might smart if one hits your head.
This park is awesome! It's shady, surrounded by trees. There it's a stream that you drive through at the entrance. The kids loved it! You can walk the trails and get into the water, wade or swim all the way down to the play area. The picnic area as well as the restrooms were very neat and clean. It could use better parking but it was adequate the day we were there. Loved it!
