Barely sat down, in waiting room, when I was called to see a Doctor.
Absolutely horrible hospital!!!!! If you or your loved one need immediate care find an alternative!!!! I never write reviews but truly felt compelled so that nobody else has a bad experience. Positive: The ER Doctor was pleasant, attentive, and efficient. Nurses (both in ER and on floor) are efficient and kind (with an exception of a night agency nurse who butchered my mother with the IV and catheter). After 3 days (so far) of my mother's stay we have seen 3 different doctors a total of 5 minutes. Each orders tests and then nothing ever happens. Ironically both of my folks ended up in the hospital at the same time and the absence of a doctor was present with both. The physician parking lot had 2 cars in the parking lot at one given time! If you have a real emergency avoid this place! I can't stress this enough!
Went to the ER with extreme pain in my peridium area. The nurse staff an Dr was relatively nice and attentive got me in for a pelvic exam an CT scan was controlling the pain with medications after the results of a test and a scan the Dr deemed my problem was not something of the concern for the ER department an recommended I follow up with my GYN with in a few days. I then made a appointment to followed up with my GYN that afternoon gave them the written explination of the CT scan results that i had a cyst located internally in the vaginal area after being subject to excruciating pain to lance said cyst I was to follow up in 2 days, no drainage progress was made then they preformed a sonogram which was very evident that I needed surgery immediately for a perirectal abscess measuring 6cmx4x2 which was located no where to what Spotsy Regional indicated. I was sent directly to Mary Washington ER where they also preformed a CT Scan and had me in the OR that evening for surgery. I will not be going back to this facility ever again. Mary wash may take a little longer but at least you will be properly diagnosed and treated
I arrived at the ER at 3 pm on a Saturday with numbness in my left arm and hand, slight dizziness/ light headedness, and a bit disoriented. I feared I may be having a stroke.
The ER staff promptly took me to the back and began checking my vitals, running test etc. They could not have been anymore friendly, kind, caring or professional. I even got to speak with a Neurologist via video call. (Pretty cool.) The rooms were very clean and organized. No complaints here. Luckily, it was just a false alarm for me on that day. If I ever have to go back to an ER (hopefully not anytime soon, no offense) I definitely hope that it will be at this hospital. Keep up the good work gang, it's much appreciated.
If there was an option to put negative stars I would! I went to this ER two days after having surgery with complications. Was put in a room within an hour. Waited a total of three hours and not one nurse or doctor saw me other than the one that did my IV and took blood in an office room! By the time a paramedic fill-in nurse acknowledged my existence, my condition was unbearable! The nurse/paramedic got some of my medicine and set it outside the door to my room. I could literally see it! 30-40 minutes go by and nothing or no-one! I got up,barely being able to walk after surgery, and went to a desk and had them take out my IV and left! This hospital is horrible and a joke just like Mary Washington! Sad... I had a little bit of hope for proper treatment when this hospital was established.
