We just moved to the area and where in need of a family doctor. We took our 6 month old son to Rapphannock Family Physicians and were not impressed. The facility was dumpy and dirty. We were there for an 1.5 hours for a well baby check up and shots. Who makes an infant wait that long! We were furious! When it was time for the shots, the nurses started having a conversation with each other and forgot about my family. My son was starting to fuss (as I said, we had been there for 1.5 hours) and they still talked. I don't know why they couldn't take 5 minutes and finish up with us before they started chatting. The doctor was average. Nothing excited about him. Maybe I was just spoiled by my old doctor, but I was not happy. We are not going back.
We have had Dr Cook for the past ten years. Rarely do I have to wait for more than ten minutes. And I consider his bedside manor to be exceptional. He is never in a hurry and will talk to you openly and in terms we understand.
