Upon further investigation of this doctor, it appears this is repetitive behavior and he has multiple negative reviews for similar behavior. As the customer, Dr. McDowell did nothing to make me feel better about the delay in being seen. He refused to treat me and threw me out of his practice. His demeanor was intimidating and threatening and completely goes against any Hippocratic Oath.
When Dr. McDowell asked me the question and I gave him an honest answer, he displayed zero empathy for my inconvenience and offered me no reasonable excuse for the delay. He was arrogant and condescending and was visibly angered when I challenged his tardiness. He yelled at me for holding him accountable for my time. His very own website states that if you arrive 15 minutes late, you will not be seen and you will need to be rescheduled. How is that same standard not applied to his schedule?
I was with the practice for approximately 4.5 years. I left the practice due to Dr. McDowell's lack of bedside manner. It is my opinion that he may very well be one of the most brash individuals I met in my 61 years.
Dr. McDowell is extremely knowledgeable, always current on new procedures, compassionate, listens and takes as much time as is needed to ensure all issues are resolved. I have trusted my family's care to him for almost 10 years and could not be more satisfied or confident in his abilities.

My wife needs her pristique and doctors won't call her back. I'm worried for my life just coming home. They charged full price for a free wellness screening and banned me from clinic when I didn't pay. Moreover, they insisted on prescribing expensive medication samples to my wife and when she ran out went psychotic due to the nature of the drug pristique. She was never notified that full prescription even with insurance was $300 out of pocket so she is borderline insane and breaking things due to withdraw. Something this practice didn't care to explain. Moreover Dr. McDowell seemed homosexual and made me feel uncomfortable turning and coughing during my exam.
After waiting one hour to be seen by Dr. McDowell, Dr. McDowell entered the office and asked me how I was doing. At that time, I responded with, “right now I am irritated that I had to wait one hour before I was face to face with the doctor.” He replied, “ this is healthcare,…I don’t know what the general public thinks…”, I stated that I felt that if I had shown up to my appointment one hour late, that I am pretty sure, I would not be seen. He replied, “I am pretty sure you would.” He said, you have the last appointment of the day and in order for you to be seen on time that means that every prior appointment would have to have run perfectly. I replied, “This sounds like a time management issue.” I then said, may I just get my lab work request to have my blood drawn for my yearly physical as that is the reason for my visit…he stood up and said, “ No, we don’t mesh….get the hell out of my office, I will mail you your records as he walked out the door. I stood up in shock then exited the exam room. As I exited, I saw him walking down the hallway and I then asked, “Can I get my copay back?” He replied, “You can get whatever you want…..” I then walked up to the reception area and requested my copay be reimbursed as I did not see the doctor. They refunded my credit card and I exited the office.
